2007-was a good year..

2007- not a bad year for the Young family. We developed into happy, healthy, challenging 2 year olds, and ended the year as verbacious, opinionated 3 year olds. Wow. So much change in 3 short short years. This time in 2005 we were sleep deprived zombies wondering what in the world were we thinking?!?

Now, we are still wondering if we are up to the challenge of parenting the duo, but they are letting us sleep. Praise God.

2007 had it's ups and its for sure downs, but more than anything, I learned what an amazing, pull together, and hunker -the -storm -together family I am part of.
My uncles affairs are slowly coming together, due in large part to my awesome mother, and we managed to get through the holidays without 2 family members that were with us just a short time ago. Such is the circle of life I suppose. On the flip side of that, our families are reproducing at warp speed and we have tons of new cousins far and wide.

My husband and family have made it very possible for me to continue my journey back to school for special education, and visual impairments education. I am still running top speed with both of those. I am a wee pissed though, for my special education licensure, I am being required to take an intro children's literature course this quarter. Why you ask?? Aren't you certified in all subjects 1-8 until 2010??? Yes, yes I am, however, my coursework is older than 5 years, so I must retake it.

2007 asked me to transfer to the elementary in my district. Rather than working with horny, moody, awkward middle schoolers, I work with squirrelly, funny, goofy 2nd and 3rd graders. I really enjoy my days with them. It just took some getting used to.

So, please bear with me as I sit with college freshmen girls named Megan and Ashley on Thursday nights from 4:30-6:48 and do book talks for the next 10 weeks. I am sure that I will have many stories from this.

I am also learning Braille this quarter. lots of dots. online. I am scared. Please pray for me.

Comments:
Oh, I'm looking forward to stories about your classmates. Especially at gatherings after you've had a drink or two.

And good luck with Braille. Sounds scary to me.

I am looking forward to those as well. I will be interested in some recommendations for children's literature.

ONLINE Braille???? sounds scary...however does that work?
